Hi all,

I'm new to linux and i've just installed the Fedorac Core 4 onto my pc. But now I'm having some displaying problems.
The monitor I use is a Belinea 106050 (19"' CRT) but this one doesn't occur in the list of monitor types and when trying to use a generic monitor not everything goes as it should be.
I would like to set the resolution to 1280x1024 but this isn't an option I can select.. the highest is 1280*800.

With this setting i can never view my entire desk at once.. I can move my mouse up to see for example the file menu.. but then I can't see the launchbar at the bottem. And the other way around.. when I see the laugh button the stuff all above moves out off sight. (I hope someone knows what I mean :-)

Is there anyone who can help me with this? 'cause it's kinda anoying working like that.

Thanx in advance

Erik

See the "Configuring your monitor" section here (http://stanton-finley.net/fedora_core_4_installation_notes.html).

Hi, thnx.. it looks much better now :-)
Strange though when I look under (translated from dutch fedora interface)
Launch -> workplace -> preferences -> screen resolution Everything is set properly
but when checking via Launch -> workspace -> system properteis -> screen It says that is is running at 480*640 at 256 colors.. witch is definetly not the case.
Not that is metters anymore.. don't care wath is says as long as it looks good
