Problem with HP USB CD-Writer 8200 series detection on FC4

Hi all,

I'm having some trouble trying to put this external cd-writer to work properly.
When I connect the writer to the copmputer, i get this messges in /var/log/messages:

Then I can`t even open de cd-writer...

I`m using Fedora Core 4 with Linux 2.6.13-1.1526_FC4smp kernel.
Totally updated with yum.
The model of the CPU is an Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz

Any ideas?
