add/remove hardware

hello, I use Fedora 2.4
My question is that how can I add or remove hardware, im my case it is an old ehernet card which screws up my connection and I have to install the new ethernet card so that I can go online so that my physical address in both linux and windows would match..
how can I add or remove hardware on a linux systems that runs on windows.

If you want to remove the device completely (= replace it with another) then simply pull out the old one, add the new one and turn on the system. The hardware detection should automatically take care of it.

hi there, the linux works on a virtual pc so I cannot add or remove the hardware, I guess I need to remove and add manually. Do you have any idea?
