I got discouraged after installing fedora core 4 because of a number of diferant software bugs  .
I have since fixed them and I enjoy fedora core 4 verry much.
-Rhythymbox does not play audio(gstreamer eror): install rpm's from gstreamer.org
-Nvidia driver does not work: boot with kernel argument selinux=0 then install driver
-Installed printer drivers drop print jobs: update cups, and system-config-printer
-Screesavers for X.org are not installed: Packages are located on cd #4 under rpms
Once I got everything working again I find FC4 to be a great distro.
If anyone is seeking awnsers to any of these problems, I hope that this post helps.

Rhythmbox not working ? Everything works fine for me. Were you trying to play MP3's or something ?

Be happy with that, you have a very secure system ;-)

BTW, when not running a server, you can turn of SELinux.

Thats misleading. SELinux is a additional security layer. In Fedora Core 3, the targeted policy only applied to network facing daemons and you might have a point that enabling/disabling it didnt make much of a difference for a home user, however with Fedora Core 4, the targeted policy has been enhanced to cover 91 daemons many of which make a difference for the home user too. Throwing away the additional layer is not really a good idea

I dont think every distor is BUG-Free but what I know is that fedora tries to get a fix asap. Some of your issues are solve by doing some reading...
