I installed Fedora Core 4 and i'm trying that i connect on internet cross cable internet.My ethernet card is Realtek RTL8139 Family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC.This card is on dev/eth0.The card connect ok but when i open browser Mozilla,this browser don't open nothing.I can't nowhere put my parameter for user name and password that i received from internet provider.I need some program which is on CD-s or something else?How i put connection for cable internet?

open a terminal
Applications > System Tools > Terminal
type
system-config-network
enter root password
click "devices" tab and highlight the active device
click "edit"
check "activate device when computer starts"
check "Automaticaly obtain IP address settings with dhcp"
check "Automatically optain DNS information from provider"
click "OK"
click "Activate"
select "yes"

I think this one can be catagorized as following:
- LAN cable problem
- FC network configuration

First of all, check /etc/modprobe.conf "alias eth0 ..."
If the statement is there, try network configuration again and try to connect Internet.
If network configuration is fine and network is not working,
LAN cable meght be a problem. (before changing LAN cabel, try the cable in other computer.)

if the provider geve you a router for connecting then you should select adsl connection. There you can fill in with username and password.

Yes. Provider gave me user name,password and there's host IP or IP adress.The dates are from Windows XP.How i can show little monitor on desktop(bellow-right beside clock) when i connected on internet like in Windows XP?
