I recently purchased a Techcom TV Tuner card. The card works flawlessly in Windows XP with the default drivers installed. It is based on the saa7130 chipset.
My problem is that the card does not get detected in Linux and I am unable to set it up in Linux. I have tried setting up the card in Suse 9.3 pro as well as Fedora Core 4. After reading a lot of articles on the net, I came across a user who had the same card and the same problem. He suggested adding the following line to my /etc/modprobe.conf file -
options saa7134 card=17 tuner=37 gbuffers=4
After adding the above lines i was able to get a clear picture but no sound. The user who gave me this tip also could not get the sound working. I have tried all methods ( changed settings in kmix, alsamixer ) but was of no use. I even tried connecting my speakers to the audio out of the card directly but there was no sound. Most of my work involves working in Linux so I would like to setup the card in Linux.
The output of dmesg | grep saa7130 is -
saa7130/34: v4l2 driver version 0.2.12 loaded

I would be highly obliged if anyone could help me setup up my Techcom Card Model No. SSD-TV-670. I am on kernel 2.6.11-1.1369_FC4.
