Can anyone tell me whether there is a Linux (Fedora) Driver for the INTEL E7221 VGA Chipset on my SuperMicro PC8SCi Board?

How about a legacy driver that would support simple Generic VESA so X-Windows will run?

Thanks,

Arre you having a problem?

I thought most Intel Cards are auto supported by Fedora

As for generic cards, The kernel is definately designed o use it

X-Windows locks up the console.

It is using Generic VESA as the VGA driver.

Toadmazter,

I gave up. I am running text mode on Fedora Core 4 and the boxes I have to have X on are still on Fedora 3.

If you find anything out, let me know.

Thanks,

Hi.
I´m having this problem too!!!

I´m trying to install Fedora Core 4 into a Dell computer, model PowerEdge 420SC, and it has the same Graphics controller mentioned above. It locks de X server.

If anyone help me, I´ll be very thankful

I found a decent work around: Install FC4 in text mode. After rebooting it will still crash X, but get to a prompt and do a "yum upgrade". Reboot again and you should have a working GUI!

I still didn´t understand.
For what should I use yum upgrade? Upgrade what? The X window?

Please, let me know.

Thank you
