Try installing the packages openoffice.org-langpack-he_IL and openoffice.org-langpack-ru_RU . You may need some more files for the input manager, but that should at least get you the spellcheckers and such.

What locale do you use? What fonts did you try?
Does russian type works in any other applications?
Have you got koi8 fonts installed?

openoffice.org-langpack-he_IL and openoffice.org-langpack-ru both exist in the updates-released repo.

# yum install openoffice.org-langpack-he_IL openoffice.org-langpack-ru
It should have worked the first time; your updates repo is OK.

OK guys its working! ;) I added some keyboard layots to my taskbar but I can't change the languages by hot keys if someone familiar to this? As I can remember there was some file responsible for this...
