I'm on dsl using dhcp but every time it is inactive so I have to got into network and start it again.

Is there a away around this so it will start every time I boot. ?

System Settings > Services, and be sure the network service is enabled.

Or were you looking for something to keep your connection alive every few minutes?

i think you can use cron to check whatever your connection alive

Thanks normaly I use "netstat" to see if there is anyhting going in!!!!.
