Im trying to get this to run with FC-4 on a Dell C400.

While d-Link has many versions of this card, Im pretty sure it has a PRISM chipset, which is supposed to be compatible with Fedora. But, Ive tried Linuxant driverloader, it has problems finding the windows drivers to use with it.

Ive done a search of this forum, no hits on anything directly usefull.

Can anyone help me with this?

Or, can anyone reccommend a wireless card that will work out of the box with FC-4???

Thanks in advance,
Bob

I fixed it! Heres how, as it's not very intuative:

The windows drivers you need to make this card (D-LINK DWL-G120 verB1) work are the windows 98 drivers, NOT the windows xp drivers! to make things worse, they are packed in a file on the driver CD, so you cant directly get to the drivers you need (prism*.inf, prism*.sys) .

Luckily, I have an old laptop with win 98, so I fired it up and installed the D-LINK CD on it. Then I searched for the files I needed and emailed them to myself on the linux laptop. (easiest way to transport this data for me)

With the win 98 drivers availiable, I installed the linuxant driver (trial version) and it worked!!

The lengths I go to to avoid using Bill's software is amazing even to me, sometimes!
