Hi all,
is there a "how to setup a mial server for newbies" anywhere?
I dont know where/how to start.
I dont know what do I need to setup a mail server for a small network ( questions like "Do I need a DNS?" and other thing like that).
Thanks all and have a nice day!

hello.
well, you will need a dns server for that. I've my own mail server, and my own domain, and i dont have a static IP. using no-ip.org, i'm able to have a dinamic dns, a working http server and a working mail server.
visit the following site. it's excelent. Remember, when setting the email server, don't forget to install also Mailscanner and a good anti-virus (clamav is excelent). everything is opensource and GPL (or some sort of).
Cheers

OK,
So installing the DNS comes before setting up the mail server.
My network (for the moment is small). What will I get from the installation CDs ? The bundles only? Or do the installation CD setup a simple bare-bones DNS service?
Thanks!
