i am using a diamond view 15inch lcd monitor, ad i cant see anything on the screen when linux(fedora) loads

i can see the screen and monitor things clearly when the system boots, i can see the splash screen thing, i can see the booting fedora will start in 3 secs thig, and the message saying 'starting udev", then it will say it is initializing hardware: the storage, network, audio........

then the screen will turn black ad the monitor will print "out of range" (this message is not generated by fedora)

i tried it with another monitor, which is another diamond view, 15inch, those large ones, on this monitor, the screen also turned black at the point.

something that might help,
i have restarted the computer like 20, SOMETIMES it prints this when fedora laods:
mknod: failed to create dev/console:17
mknod: failed to create dev/null:17
mknod: failed to create dev/sero:17

When i was isntalling fedora, i couldnt use the gui installation because the scrren would turn black and it would print "out of range", so i continued with the "linux text" instlaltion, but i thought this was only for the installation

what should i do??

edit: btw, this is on a P3 compaq computer with a matrox millenium g400 card
i went to the installation again, and i tried the gui installation
when it loaded, it didnt recognise the moitor

i've done a quick search, annd i have found that many people have had this problem, but there doesnt seem to be a solution

Hallo
it's my be a problem with the boot bcoration or the X-Server

1. Boot the computer
2. When the bootmanager looks up, select the Fedora and press the e-key.
2. select the line how starts with: "kerne". And press the e-key again.
3. delet the "rhgb quiet" at the ende of this line.
4. press the ENTER-key

If you afterwards can login, do the same cange at in the file: /boot/grub/grub.conf

May be you have to run system-confog-display to config your X-server.

If afterwards the X-server wont start, pleas quote the error messages.
