I recently started using fedora core 2 that came with a bible that I bought at borders. and I have had some problems installing modems on it. I orginally had a modem with a sl1801 chipset I got the drivers and got it installed I got the modem to call my cell phone but i could not get it to talk with my ISP so after giving up someone on linuxquestions.org suggested I bought a hardware modem so I went to the store and picked up a new modem on the box it said it was a PCI hardware modem. well I get it home to find out that it too is a software modem. so I ran the scanModem and I downloaded the suggested drivers. and I changed the ('uname' -r) in the make file with my kernel header path.
I did the
# make clean
# make 537
# make install
I get get all sort of errors that files or directory do not exist. can someone look at the make file for this driver for me and tell me exactly what it should look like. thank you for your time and here is the scan modem results.

The older 2.4.n driver pair have a dependency on one other.
with result that these messages may be seen upon driver loading:

but function is NOT affected.
Bur when the message is any longer, the drivers probably have not been properly compiled.
In which case carefully read Modem/DriverCompiling.txt
A problem maintaining CONNECT under the version 4.62 drivers was resolved
by dropping back to the 4.60 version. See:
