A single CD installation image based on Fedora Core Linux, aimed to help beginners to have a fully functional system running with minimum effort & zero Linux skill requirements.
-
This is a stripped down version of the installation CD # 1 of Fedora Core(as of now FC3) like for a minimum installation, plus all those other pieces of data that I have decided to be worthwhile to fill the remaining part until 700 MB on the image.
What is different:
- each image is always the very latest patch level for all RPMs
- auto-partitioning during kickstart install
- pre-configured environment for 5 default users, similar functionalities but different themes
- KDE centric, not Gnome based
- post installation phases 1-4 during interrupted which automated reboots, system is customized/configured
- the manual interaction for the complete setup is minimized to the absolute minimum.
- automated localization based on geoIP, addition for translations, fonts, input methods
- use specific language switcher that does everything automatically for all & any programs
- auto-install more software after installation
The same CD image installs in Bangalore a Hindi desktop, in Madrid in Spanish, in Tokyo double byte Katana, like that.
