Hi,
I've installed Fedora Core 4 on my 200GB Maxtor USB2 HD and its currently running well. A friend of mine suggested that I should try and create a disk that would point to the Linux partition and allow me to boot Fodora directly and as a result allow me to run it on any pc.
Any one have any suggestions or can point me in the direction I need to be going???

I'm pretty new to Linux in general , and FC in particular. However, it seems to me that your friend is suggesting that you set up your PC to allow remote log-ins. Of course, I could be wrong. This is a url for "Fultus online e-library"

Whether you try for network boot or remote log-in, you should find out how to do it here. Or even find out if I told you the right thing!
Good Luck.
Bill
p.s. Don't forget about the security you will need for remote log-ins.

Probably means a floppy that will point to you external on boot up, so you plug in your HD, stick in the floppy and turn on the computer, the floppy would need to be first in boot order, than it would tell the computer to boot from the hard drive, or somethinglike that.

Would I need then to change the booting order of the pc I've plugged into?
What information would I have to put on the floppy/cd?
I have not done much of this type of stuff before so if you would be able to help it would be appreciated!!

I have no idea how to do it, I am assuming that's what he is trying to tell you.

I've had a quick look through it and saw some stuff I will read later, unfornunately it does not cover booting a USB HD with Fedora using a floppy/cd.
