Anyone here that likes Coldplay will know that their new album utilises some form of security to prevent customers from copying their songs.

Hmm, I was able to rip all the song off the CD in FC4 with Audio CD Ripper in 15 mins.

Does anyone here know why their protection was useless?

The copy protection requires Windows to work properly.

Does it actually stop you in windows?

Haven't been down under in a while, so I guess people still use regular, old audio CDs (we a bit backwards over here)?

In that case the CD is just a list of frequencies, in which case copying i should use he same methods as playing the CD.

Could someone point me to an explanation of how they did this protection stuff?

Ha ha ha, nice one. I will have to remember this next time I am playing with a protected Cd. Thanks for the info.

I don't think linux falls for it though

At least I know how it works

EDIT: Summary: they intentionally add errors to the Table of Contents where CD players will skip, but CD ROM drives will read
