Restore from FC4 to FC3

After upgraded from FC3 to FC4, I am not happy with the speed of Samba, it is much slower than FC3.

Is there any good way to go back to FC3? Can I go the upgrade route from FC4 to FC3 or I have to install FC3 from scratch?
