okay 2.6.12 is going to be out only a few days after FC4, and Redhat (i guess the fedora foundation now) has said that it will have a kernel update for FC4, but here is the big question for me, STANDBY, sorry for the caps, but yeah, one of the big things in 2.6.12 was to be support for suspend to ram and suspend to disk(at least that is what i had heard), so will FC4 allow me to do that on my 64bit laptop.....thanks.

The linux kernel has supported suspend to ram/hard drive for a long time. this is not to say it always worked, but the susport was there. 2.6.12 is advertising enhanced suspending to ram and hd, but this begs the question of what enhanced means. you do not have to wait for FC4 to be able to suspend your laptop, it does work in FC3, but requires configuration.

well the obvious answer is that 2.6.12 is not out yet. secondly, kernels are always tested out before being made offical. expect to see some testing kernels shortly after 2.6.12 makes its appearence.

the topic says it all, yeah, i can get hiberante to work, but it is stable, and software suspend 2 does not like amd64 yet, so my only oh is FC4
