synching Palms with Jpilot

I've got my palm working with Jpilot, but only in root, not in user, has anyone gotten around this problem? (or failing that, how do I get Jpilot to run under root on regular user bootup?)

change the permission for the device in /etc/udev/permissions.d/50-udev.permission
