Hi. I'm not a total newbie, but I still have a lot to learn, so thanks in advance for your patience!
I have had FC3 installed for quite a while now, and since I first installed whenever I boot I get a message saying that my BIOS fails the cutoff date, and to pass acpi=force to the kernel.
My real question however is that if I pass acpi=force to the kernel, will I need to do anything else to have ACPI support installed? Did the install routine actually install and setup ACPI too, or will I need to pass acpi=force and do additional setup to be able to monitor temperatures, etc?
When I 'modprobe acpi' I get:
FATAL: Error inserting acpi_cpufreq (/lib/modules/2.6.11-1.27_FC3/kernel/arch/i386/kernel/cpu/cpufreq/acpi-cpufreq.ko): No such device
Right now I am not passing the parameter to the kernel, as I would like to have everything planned out before I start changing things.
TIA!
