Hello everyone.

I'm currently saddled with a Speedtouch 330 USB Broadband modem. When I was using SuSE it took me a while to get it to work, but it did eventually work. I've tried getting it to work with FC3 as follows :

Install (etc) the relevant software as oultlined on the Sourceforge site, and plenty of others too. This includes editing and splitting and creating various config files.

I have now reached the dizzy heights experienced by so many others, namely, the OS will not boot. It freezes on "enabling swap" on the CTRL+ALT+F1 screen and on the only other useful screen ( CTRL+ALT+F8 ) it is still trying to start the pppoe - the correct service for this modem.

I've tried interactive start ups, killing sendmail, deleting rhgb from grub.conf... all meet with failure. I am shortly going to buy a real BB modem. I've noticed the speedtouch positively sucks power from my laptop, and either way, we're talking serious CPU & resource hogging as well. I was just wondering if anyone out there has ever managed to get the temperamental thing going with FC3 or similar?
