Downloaded ISO's and passed MD5SUM check. Installation goes through the media checks (passed on all 5 disks), then runs Anaconda, probes video card. It loaded the Vesa driver, then sets unknown monitor and three button mouse. It starts X, says it is putting a long at /tmp/x.log, a 1 flashes and then it crashes to just a dark screen, not in X with a hyphen or underscore in the upper left hand corner.
Then did a text install, personal desktop edition. Went through the three disks, removed CD-ROM and rebooted. System went through the starup, just after "Initialising Hardware" which completes ok, then it dies. This is where the graphical portion of the startup begins. System goes to a blank screen and stays there. Screen seems like it is trying to run X, in that the screen is "ON" but nothing is displayed.
During either crash the tty sessions are not available. If someone can point me to some useful information to grab, I can try to select the F5 rescue mode and see if I can get into the system to get a file.
