it seems that everyone is downloading the file now....
im using kget and it downloads faster than simply using firefox (if it stalls pause it then start again)

I have just installed nvidia 7664.
i did my usual procedure for the installation

but with
modprobe nvidia
i saw it installed the 7174 kernel stuff

unfortunately ive deleted the 7174 driver version
so i stood right in front of those warnings

so ive removed the previous kernel module
reinstalled the driver
everything went smooth

only to enable the 3D accelerator
i performed
sudo yum install nvidia-glx kernel-module-nvidia-`(uname -r)`

here wat id received !!!

--> Running transaction check

Dependencies Resolved
Transaction Listing:
Install: kernel-module-nvidia-2.6.11-1.27_FC3.i686 0:1.0.7174-0.lvn.1.3 - livna-stable
Total download size: 1.2 M
Is this ok [y/N]:

how do i know which version of nvidia i have installed?
(knowing i have installed 7664)

There are multiple places you can check... It perplexes me that no one ever knows anything outside of glxgears.

When will those drivers be available on rpm? (such as those on livna repo)
Or where can I find the kernel source of latest kernel on fedora 3? (Is the kernel-source still required to run the driver script?)
Thanks.

The kernel source isn't needed for anything besides rebuilding the kernel. Livna.org now offers rpms in it's stable repository. See www.fedorafaq.org/#nvidia or the rpms: http://rpm.livna.org/fedora/3/i386/RPMS.stable/

Thanks for your post, but I already installed the 1.0-7174 version. I wanted to know if there were such a rpm on livna for the latest version as I said in my post.

I recompiled the latest kernel, and installed latest nvidia drivers with it ...

Just to let everybody know, I just noticed on linuX-gamers.net (http://www.linux-gamers.net/modules/news/article.php?storyid=831) with the latest version of the Nvidia drivers, 1.0-7664, there is a new option, Coolbits, you can add to xorg.conf to enable overclocking using nvidia-settings. Phoronix has a guide here (http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=197&num=1).

You are going to have to wait until the repository you use updates to the latest Nvidia drivers. The best bet would be either email the repository maintainers or build the driver yourself using the .spec file in the .src.rpm. Personally, I use the .run file from Nvidia.
