I have an Intel dual-core Pentium 4 processor on an Intel G945GNT motherboard. When Fedora Core 4 test 3 x86_64 dvd is inserted the boot prompt loads up (without the Fedora graphic loader its a green text only display). When i press enter to load the default options it displays a "." on the screen and the system reboots a few seconds later. I have had no success in getting this to work on this system. I was able to get SuSE 9.3 Professional x86_64 up and running. I am going to try installing with a single core processor and then install the latest kernel then try again with the dual-core processor. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Hoping not to sound TOO obvious . . .

make sure you use the smp kernel.
