Gaim systray applet and Gnome

I'm using RH9 and Gaim 0.69 (via apt). The systray plug-in works fine in
kde, but It doesn't seem to work at all under Gnome. Any ideas? I am
still using the stock bluecurve theme if that makes any difference.

Oops, I had removed the "Notification Area" from the panel. Got it now.
