[freshrpms]
name=Fedora Linux $releasever - $basearch - freshrpms
baseurl=http://ayo.freshrpms.net/fedora/linux/development/$basearch/freshrpms
gpgcheck=0
I use this one. Remember it is still a development version though.

livna is not the only one that works with the test release of FC4. I have used atrpms, livna, and freshrpms with no problems so far at ALL!
atrpms
baseurl=http://apt.atrpms.net/fedora/4/en/i386/
livna
baseurl=http://rpm.livna.org/fedora/3.92.i386/
freshrpms is already listed above....

HI,
I downloaded FC4 Test 3 hoping that it would be stable enough. It was only after I installed it, I found out that yum doesnt work properly on it. Can someone please post a working .conf file for yum so that i can download the basic sound/video apps?

I haven't changed the files from when they were downloaded, except to change gpgcheck=1 to gpgcheck=0
[main]
cachedir=/var/cache/yum
debuglevel=2
logfile=/var/log/yum.log
pkgpolicy=newest
distroverpkg=redhat-release
tolerant=1
exactarch=1
retries=20
obsoletes=1
gpgcheck=0
# PUT YOUR REPOS HERE OR IN separate files named file.repo
# in /etc/yum.repos.d
Attached are my yum.conf from /etc and the repo files from /etc/yum.repos.d

This may take someone a bit more experienced than me to answer but did you check the repo files as well? Does the log file at /var/log/yum.log show anything?
What does "yum list" typed in terminal without the quotes return? It should list all the files available in the repositories it can find. "yum list updates" should list all those packages that have updates available.
Have you tried using up2date? This now works for me from build 1340

repositories contained as .repos do not work so I guess I will move them all into my yum.config file also up2date does not work for me same problem(cant find the repositories). Installing programs on fedora has been a disaster.
