Has anyone tried doing a network install of FC4T3?
I'm booting CD1 and using "linux askmethod".
The method I choose is HTTP.
When it comes to get an IP address (either DHCP or manually) it waits for around a minute before:
"install exited abnormally -- received signal 11"
and the installation crashes.
I can't do a disk install on this machine, as I only downloaded disk 1 and the DVD image so far.

I installed over the network. Created a 6MB boot CD from CD1 (images/boot.iso) which should work in the same way as "askmethod".
I selected NFS rather than HTTP, specify manual IP address. No problems with that. My NFS server directory contains Fedora and images from CD1, Fedora from CD2-4.
The only real problem I had was that grub-install did not seem to run, as I was unable to boot the partition (multi boot box). Fixing it via rescue mode was a pain, since the /dev directory was not built and did not have any entries for "hdb" which is my install drive. mknod fixed that, then I could grub-install which gave me a bootable partition.
I left the install running in the office last night when I went home, came back this morning to find "install complete". So I don't know if there were any errors during the install.

I've submitted a bugzilla report (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla-old/show_bug.cgi?id=158165) now after further testing.
It may be to do with my laptop. I've done a good network install on a Toshiba Portege 7140CT laptop (only for X to crash on FirstBoot) so I know network install works fine.
The laptop with the problems is a Sony VAIO PCG-Z600TEK. These have a combined sound & network controller I understand. I had problems doing network installs on this laptop back in the RedHat 7 days. But those problems were just that it could never find anything on the network. This time it looks like the network makes it fall over.
Cheers anyway
