Hi to everybody who reads this.
I have only tried this on Dell Latitude D505, but I asume that I get the same problems on my Dell Latitude D810.
Having trouble to get IPW2200 to work. This is what I have done so far:
Installed FC3 and updated everything. Now running linux kernel 2.6.11-1.14_FC3
Downloaded and installed;
- kernel-smp-2.6.11-1.14_FC3.i686.rpm (needed this to install ipw2200-kmdl.....)
- ipw2200-kmdl-2.6.11-1.14_FC3smp-1.0.0-23.rhfc3.at.i686.rpm
- ipw2200-1.0.0-23.rhfc3.at.i383.rpm
- ipw2200fw-2.3.tgz (files placed under /lib/firmware)
When i double click eth1 under
Applications--->System Settings--->Network
I now see the wireless option.
But eth1 is still inactive!
I have these error messages in the Boot log:
- ifup: Error for wireless request "Set Bit Rate" (8B20):
- ifup: SET failed on device eth1; Operation not supported.
- ifup:
- ifup: Determining IP information for eth1...
- ifup: failed; no link present. Check cable? (little bit funny...check cable)
- network: Bringing up interface eth1: failed
If anyone could help me with this I would be an extemely happy guy.
Please excuse my english...it's not my native language.
