where is the proper place to express my discontent with the removal of bluecurve as the default theme?
will it be like this for the final release?
is RHEL doing away with it too?

There has already been a discussion about this in fedora-devel and fedora-test releases. Clearlooks ( Which is dervived from Bluecurve and is a prime candidate for being the default theme for the next version of GNOME 2.12) will the default theme for Fedora Core 4. However Bluecurve will be shipped as part of Fedora Core in the foreseeable future and would have take a minute to switch to if thats your personal preference. Of course many end users will do just that.

I like bluecurve but I also like the new comer which i use in my desktop.

I don't see problem with theme change, I think new theme looks more sleek and professional tha bluecurve.. Someone likes mom, someone likes daughter, you know.

i don't really like clearlooks, but on fc4t2 they still have bluecurve, it just wasn't the default.

bluecurve is great as it makes gnome+kde apps the same, clearlooks does not afaik.

I'd still prefer bluecurve as the defaut theme for fc4- more original features in itself - but really now, in practise with fc3 I use the new comer clearlook because it's far more polished. bluecurve need some intense updates with the help of the original artists -

Bluecurve is still included in the Fedora-Artwork package. You can change your theme settings using gnome-theme-manager, Find it under Desktop > Preferences > Theme

Personally, I use Gnome (Blue Curve) due to speed. It reminds me of WIn 3.11 or WIn 95. It is extremely ugly. Eye candy is a wonderful thing for those 18 hour shifts...

Will gladly use anything that offers speed and a better looking desktop. KDE used to be my favorite but find it to slow
