Is there a problem with Samba?

Windows and other Linux machines can see the shared directories, but even though the read, write and execute permissions are set to enabled for all users, and the firewall is set to enable access, no other computer appears to be able to write to the Linux Core 4 machine.

I've set the owner to the shared folder owner to adm.

adm must be a user on the linux machine. If so useradm has a group id.
It it users?
SELinux in FC4 now blocks sharing /home/username (subdir's)
Open the filewall tool and tab to SELinux,
fine the check box that says,
"Allow users to share home dir's" (eary in the list) and try again.

Ergo, there is no special reason to share from a special user type. Just a plain ol' user.

P.S. I'm assuming a simp[le workgroup. Smaba has a lot of details and each netork configuration needs to be addressed.

Also, if you can't access your Windows share folders from your Linux box with Nautilus, then use Konqueror. In the address bar type-

smb://

Hope that helps too.

Cheers,
