1. I hope there's no concept of "dialling" in ADSL modems. they should b always on. but My ISP has provided a ADSL modem & asks me to dial up using "username and passwd" to get connected to internet.

2. but, in any case, how to configure a dial up modem in fedora core -2 ?

thanx....

Use your favorite browser--firefox--mozilla--whatever
type in the address bar 192.168.254.254 and login there usually--its a web page setup--or look in the book for the correct IP address if different.
sometimes login name is admin--password is admin change these soon!--look under admin heading
go to setup--then PPP--enter user/password--save
setup firewall to which level you want
find place like home or where it gives you the choice of "connect" and it should--log out.
the defaul;t settings for the rest should be ok..
hopefully most of this information will be relevant for your modem and ISP there--unless this is a USB connected adsl modem and then all bets are off!!
