If you're connected they will find their way...
I tried to install the same modem on a RH8 sometimes ago and failed. If you
succeed make sure you let me know. However, the drivers I found at the time were
really old (kernel 2.2) and personally I don't really trust manufacturers that
don't update their (Linux) drivers: today it's working, but tomorrow you'll be
on your own. Get an ethernet modem/router and live happy!

Hi,
Well I have made a little further progress in getting the Conexant PCI ADSL
card set up with RH9 and Plus Net (I was only joking about PlusNet, they've
been pretty good recently)
If you check the tread I started on the Linux forum of www.adslguide.org
you will see that I had some further advice from another user.
Using the command /etc/rc.d/init.d/cnxadslctl status Ifound that my modem
was "seeing" the ADSL signal OK. I just don't know how to proceed from here.
I'm sure I'm almost there, and that it will work , I just need a little more
guidance..
By the way, how do I ping Plus net?

Sorry, try this link:
http://bbs.adslguide.org.uk/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Board=linux&Number=890917&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1#Post910869
Otherwise go the board homepage http://bbs.adslguide.org.uk then go to the
"technical discussions" section, there you will find the Linux board.
My thread is called "Conexant ADSL-PCI on RH9 problems".
You might need to register if you want to join in on that board.

That worked. Thanks.
I refer to the last message in the forum. If I'm not mistaken the cnxadslctl
service starts fine but, the interface is not found, ie ifconfig ppp0 gives a
Device not found. Is that correct?
What does lspci -v has to say?
Have you modprobe CnxADSL.o? Check with lsmod...
Are you using the right kernel for the module?
What's in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-ppp0?
Beside that, it might help to have a look at the logs: check if cnxadslctl has
its own log or read the docs to find out if it uses syslog. I seem to remember
that there's something in /var/log/messeges...
Can't think of anything else right now. I'll download the packages and have a
look at them.
