Hi
Yes Synaptic manager is not installed with the packages. You can use
Yum
Visit this
http://www.fedorafaq.org/#installsoftware
After that just do (logging in as root)
yum install xmms
For playing mp3s visit the same link
and under
Problems and Their Solutions
see the 7th question.
If you are from India...........Why do you want to download Fedora.........It is distributed with PCQuest and also with LinuxForYou magazines, I think Digit also gives it.......I am also waiting for Fedora Core4 to be given with these magazines, So now I am using Fedora Core3 :)

Hi
Yes these magazines do provide OS CDs/DVDs
I had no problems installing FC3 ( I have installed in many of my friends place also)
But anyway you are half way through FC4, so no point stopping now.

buy your cds of www.bazee.com [which is now ebay.in],

Hi
Yes it is expensive, I think I bought RedHat 7.2 from them, after that I have been using CDs given by the magazines.
Never tried Baazee so dont know about the quality.
I think we should Burn CDs for free at our places and pass it on to anyone who wants it :)

I know, how often does Linux For You come out? I want to get a subscription. They keep giving out entire distros! If I recall, the last CD came free with Knoppix Cluster 3.3. Didn't try it though

It is monthly
I think subscription for a year is Rs.725/-
The topic heading is XMMS
and here we are talking about Magazines :p
I think we should move this under a different new heading before the community managers start doing that ;)
