Hi.
I just installed Fedora Core 4 test 2 today, and I tried to get the 3d support on my radeon 9800pro card up and running.
I followed the guide I found here: [link] (http://www.fedoraforum.org/forum/showthread.php?t=25801), but it just... didn't work. I used the FC3-part of the yum.conf.
When I try this:
yum install ati-fglrx kernel-module-fglrx-$(uname -r)
I get this message:

Parsing package install arguments
No Match for argument: ati-fglrx
No Match for argument: kernel-module-fglrx-2.6.11-1.1226_FC4
Nothing to do

so it seems yum doesn't find the drivers in the repositories.
So do anyone know how to get 3d support on Fedora Core 4?

I appreciate any help I can get.
Thanks in advance. :)

As near as I can tell, the drivers need to be rebuilt for each new release. The last version on livna supports only through 2.6.10 of FC3.

I found this article on how to build it for 2.6.11. I havenīt tried to build it myself but you may be more adventurous than I.

Let me know how you get on as I would like to get this working as well. I had done the install on a 2.6.10 kernel which mostly worked. The only problem was a system hang everytime I tried to logoff (ouch). I back with my 2.6.11 kernel and was hoping that FC4 would cover this so I donīt have to.
