Hey guys. I recently just got FC3 x86_64 and currently have WinXP Pro. I just freshly installed WinXP Pro and made the following partitions:
40 GB HDD-0
20GB Partition and formatted to Windows
10GB Partition for FCS x86_64
7GB Free Space
Can anyone give me the step by step procedure to make my box a dual boot system?
Thanks,
~Chris :D

you didn't patition the space for Fedora Core did you?
in windows, if you only have a C:\ drive make sure it is only 20GB you specified when you installed Windows
To partition Fedora Core
See these pages
https://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/linux/RHL-9-Manual/install-guide/s1-diskpartauto.html
you want the keep existing partitions and use free space
then you'll want to create your partitions with Disk Druid
Click NEW
create a boot partition 100 mb
then click NEW again create a root partition 8-12 GB
then NEW again create a swap partition
SEE 3.19.2. Disk Druid's Buttons from this page
https://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/linux/RHL-9-Manual/install-guide/s1-diskpartitioning.html
You should end up with something like this
/dev/hda1 < your 20GB windows partiton you created when you installed windows
/dev/hd2 < extended container of the drive
/dev/hda3 /boot < 100mb partiton you create for booting purposes
/dev/hda4 / < rott [partition where FC is installed
/dev/hda5 /swap < you create 500 MG to 1 Gb of space will suffice
Oncew your satisfied with the partition scheme
see this page
https://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/linux/RHL-9-Manual/install-guide/s1-x86-bootloader.html
you'll see Fedora Core 3
AND
"other" <--- your windows install
rename it to windows
if you want it to be default chose that as well
SEE 3.20.1. Advanced Boot Loader Configuration
https://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/linux/RHL-9-Manual/install-guide/s1-x86-bootloader.html
Since you have a NT version you want to install into the boot partition you created
If you have any other questions PLEASE ASK BEFORE YOU START
Good luck
