Hello,

I am happy with the stability and speed of Fedora Core 4 Test 2.

However, after updating with Yum there is no "shutdown" option in Gnome nor KDE anymore.

I have all the latest updates on my machine.

How can I get it fixed ?

Thanks in advance !

I have the same problem too
This is what I got from the fedora development list.

Hi,

>> As the subject says, applying the latest updates i seem to have lost
>> the ability to select shutdown from gdm login screen and gnome logout
>> dialog. The reboot option remains.

Yea that's a bug that I fixed a while ago and reverted yesterday on
accident.

If you don't want funnies and weirdos on a weekly basis, don't run the development branch. It's like riding a train over tracks that are still being laid...

Thanks for the answer, jarifed.

Hope they will fix that soon.

Till fixing, I shut down manually :

sudo /sbin/shutdown -h now

I will install Fedora Rawhide onto my laptop. Let's see how it works.

After a new update of GDM.

Shutdown option is visible again :)

Try simply halt -p

You can create a .desktop file with the above command, so that you can just double click to shutdown

And it calls shutdown, unless it encounters some sort of error

After a new update of GDM.

What version of GDM do you have now?
