Am I the only one who's feeling the pain of them not including cyrus-imapd in FC4T2?

I got screwed when they removed the "vanilla" imapd from FC1 and replaced it with cyrus in FC2. I thought they had decided to commit to cyrus, but I guess not. Now they expect me to move my entire site from cyrus to dovecot?

I tried compiling cyrus-imapd, but it doesn't seem to compile under gcc-4.0. I suppose this is one of their criteria for not including it. This is really rediculous policy: Let's go with everything hyper cutting-edge, and anything that doesn't work, we'll just toss it out of the distro. Our users won't mind! Oh, and by the way, we won't tell them that we're tossing required packages until their system boots up and dies in mysterious ways. No warning, no info, no nothing, just a non-functional machine.

At this point, it would be easier to switch to another distro than switch to dovecot. I used to love RH and FC, and now I pretty much despise them.

Anyone else feel the same?

I say this over and over :D

If your going to run rawhide/test you should get on the mailing list, this package has been approved and submitted to extras. Currently it hasn't been "built" on the build box. but you can pull it from cvs and build it.

Wow, just going through this forum to find what other people are having experience with and I find this. I am on the mailing list and have not seen this come up. I have started moving my servers over to cyrus-imapd for the same reason. I was told that this is the way that Red Hat was going with IMAP through searching Internet and forums. What to do now???? this is going to be a PITA.

Well actually, when you install a non-beta version, extra's will be in your yum.conf by default and you will find it pretty easy.
