Has anyone tried to install FC4 test 1 or 2 on reiserfs partitons ?
When I did installed my kernel would not boot. I got kernel panic. When switched to ext3 everything works fine.
Has anyone got such problem ?
Sorry don't have the output, cause reinstalled everything in ext3.

Yes I did.
Before installation process, at boot prompt enter: linux selinux=0 reiserfs
You see you need to disable SELinux if you want to use reiserfs.
It works OK.

So even FC4 won't have ReiserFS? i am using it with FC3 and works well (i have to disable SElinux to change passwords, but apart that, it works great) and i hope i'd be able to use it with FC4 ! If ReiserFS won't be supported i might change distro :/

no it works fine so far you just have to disable selinux in boot

Good to know. When I read this now I remember I've read it another place too, but I had forgot. I guess it's not enough to just use the "warn" function? I've installed with SELinux and set it to warn. Will it be enough to boot and add selinux=0 to grub kernel line? (I'm going to fix my AMD64 kernel problem tomorrow so then I will probably know anyway..

Watch Out !!! I don't know about adding this parametr to grub !!! Here is how I did it,, It's actually've been recommended a few posts above if you read carefully :>
At the boot prompt ( meaning when you first time install Fedora or update it) you type in : linux selinux=0 reiserfs
that completely disables selinux and makes things work just fine. If someone else knows a better workaround please post it, cause for some people it may be a hassle to reinstall everything again.

Question: What disadvantages are there (if any) at this point in disabling SELinux?
Thanks!

I sussessfully installed it to /dev/hda1which had been formatted reiserfs, but it failed to
boot, complainting "kernel pinic,VFS*****,unknown super block(hd0,0)",while to other partitions it works fine.
Can this be handled?
thanks for any advise.

Have you read the posts above yours ? I assume you did not. Did you disable SELINUX ?
When first time installing Fedora you should've typed this line " linux selinux=0 reiserfs " without quotes

I have added that line, and It does work OK on any other partitions except hda1.I mean that I want to
have a"solo" Fedora installed on partiton hda1,reiserfs.I have tryed many times ,every time I jumped
into the trap:"kernel pinic......". :(
Few people does this,I think?

I'm not sure what this SOLO thing is,,, but what I meant is when you boot FC4 and get the screen with boot: option you need to type that line I was talking in the post above. That was a problem in my case.

Cause found.
I think it is a bug related language surpport.
I install it in English,it boots smoothly, while in Chinese it always fails to boot.
Sorry for my poor English.

I read a couple weeks ago the developer if Reiser has no intention of supporting XATTR until Resier 4. Here is the link: http://forums.fedoraforum.org/archive/index.php/t-53059.html
It is not a Fedora or SELinux thing. Finalzone has a link to redhat magazine in the second post in the thread which discusses this in more detail.
