I have been attempting to install apps via yum and have run into a bit of a roadblock. Specifically I'm looking for some packages such as xawtv, gatos, vlc (you see where I'm going with this) and usually the package install fails from dependencies due to older libs required. I have cheated to get other software up by using FC3 repos, but am now stuck.
Currently I've configured yum to use DAG, Dries, and Freshrpms since the usual Fedora repos don't have the software I'm looking for (although I use the "official" repos as well). Any suggestions on where to find FC4 specific releases? Am I stuck rebuilding everything and then reconciling dependencies via patching/recompiling? I realize this is a test release, but without being able to install certain apps how can you test their performance? :)
Any thoughts are appreciated.
