My computer already has a copy of RH8 and the Linux driver disk for the Samsung ML2250 printer worked fine with this system allowing me to choose either my H-P inkjet or the Laser printer.

I have now loaded FC3 onto another disk in the same machine and it seems to be working Ok but I can't get the system to see the Samsung driver disk. I can read other disks in the same (DVD)drive but when I try the Samsung one all I see is three items viz. Manual, Desktop DB(40Kb) and Desktop DF(0kB). Of these only the Manual item can be seen with the RH8 system., but RH8 sees many items which aare invisible on FC3.

I note that FC3 has chosen to mount cdrom drives under "media" rather than "mnt"

I have loaded other programs into FC3 using the same drive without trouble.

Putting the disk into my cd-rewriter gives the same problem.

Help!!!

Hi All. I seem to have craked this problem myself! In the /etc/fstab file the ehe "type" entry was set as auto wheras in the equivalent file in RH8 it was set to iso9660. Changing the FC3 version made it read the disk correctly. I can't remember if I had to set the RH8 version manually or if it was set when RH8 was installed

Hope this may be of use to somebody
