Ok this has been annoying me for some time now, but I cannot upgrade my system at all because gnome-session gnome-volume-manager and gstreamer-plugins all seem to need libmusicbrainz.so2 and I can't even find a musicbrainz package in the development repository at all. Does any one have any idea how I can resolve this dependency because now my Gnome login will not work because I uninstalled gnome-session to see if I coud make this dependency behave properly.

Follow a link from here, and see if this package sets you up:

http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat/4/idpl/1534623/com/libmusicbrainz-2.0.2-11.i386.rpm.html

Looks like it is a package in FC2 and FC3 that they accidently left out of the development repo.

libmusicbrainz-2.1.1-1.i386.rpm

You need this instead. You can grab this from here for now and install it with rpm -Uhv --nodeps then yum update will proceed without trouble. Or you can wait 6-9 hours and rawhide mirrors will have it.

Sorry to be piling on, but I am seeing exactly the same symptoms. I got past the libmusicbrainz with wtogami's fix (got it from the mirrors). Now I see the request for libflac and liboggflac.

Yeah, a bunch of stuff needs to be rebuilt against the new flac... it hasn't been done yet. Will let this thread know when I grab new packages.

Wow. The new flac managed to link itself to the old flac. Bad software!

flac and gstreamer-plugins fixes part of the problem. Other packages like k3b need to be rebuilt against this new flac.
