OK, got the K3B thing working.. now I got another question about DVD Devices.

My DVD Burner shows up as /dev/hdb, not /dev/dvd as it should. I tried to rip a movie I made using Video Vegas (windos sw) and burned to dvd. I wanted to rip it using DVD::RIP (installed using apt). It needs to be configured, and I have configured it before, but when I reloaded the computer with FC3 to recover my k3b problem, it loaded my dvd as a hard drive, not at /dev/dvd. Is there a way to correct this without having to reload FC3?

Two threads for the same issue is not good. Stick with your previous one and close this please - see http://www.fedoraforum.org/forum/showthread.php?t=49375

This is not the same issue... this is a different issue. I got K3B working by changing permissions. I can't change permissions to change my DVD from /dev/hdb to /dev/dvd. but this is a kernel/system issue, not my ROM problem. This is a hardware issue....
