View Full Version : IP Address Problem

I am almost completely ignorant when it comes to Fedora. I had to install a new firewall at one of our high schools and change the private IP adress from a class C to a Class A range on their Fedora server. I found a way to change this using the GUI X??, but it did not seem to work as none of the workstations can login to the domain now, nor can the server access the Internet. Is it possible that the GUI isn't truly changing the IP even though it lists it even after a reboot?

Any help would be greatly appreciated because our school district can't afford to hire anyone to work on this.

Thanks

did you save the chages to the devices in the GUI?
then
did you as root ( su - ) do a
service network restart
after making changes?

Yes I did, but I did all of this in the windowsx interface. I was wondering if the domain that exists on the server has anything to do with it? Something is acting like I didn't change the IP to the new range.

Thanks for the help
