Hi, Gurus:

I am new to Linux. I have installed Fedora Core 2 on my x86 system a couple of times. First two times, I installed Fedora with default psckage groups. It all were successful. But I failed to install Oracle 10g on Fedora Core2. I thought that was because I didn't install all required packages. So I tried to install Fedora C2 twice with customizing the installation of packages. I choosed these packages: XWindowSystem, GNOME Desktop Envirnment, KDE Desktop Envirnment, Editors, Graphical Internet, Server Configuration Tool, Windows File Server, Network Servers, Development Tools, Kernel Development, Administration Tools and System Tools. The installation process was smooth. But after installation, system asked me to take off all medias and pressed reboot button. I did, the system won't reboot to start Linux system. During these two installation, first time, I partitioned the HD with /, /boot, swap, /tmp, /usr/, /var, /home, /opt. Second time, I let Fedora installer to do partition automatically. It came up with /boot, swap and a big / partition. Can anyone help me to figure out what is the reason to cause this problem? 1. too many packages? 2. installation process was wrong or something? 3. The partition affected the installation. Which partition is the appropriate. Thanks for your help in advance.

There is no response for my post. So I respond to myself. It seems that there is no guru in Fedora. No people can give me a hand.
