I can mount the memory at my mac with macos x, with ubuntu linux and with widows xp, but not with fedora core 3. That could be the problem?

Are you trying to mount it with the following...'mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/floppy'? Do you know what the format on the memory card is? VFAT? You can mount it to any place as long as the folder exists. I use floppy becuase the machine does not have one, yet the folder was there from another system.

Do you mean it does not AUTO MOUNT like on other systems?

yes i mean auto mount. it has work at that machine once. I think it maybe has been with services to do?

Make sure that the hald service is running. I believe that's the service that keeps a watch out for removable media.

I'm in the same boat. I have a SanDisk USB flash drive that is not seen by FC3 when I plug it into any of my USB 2.0 ports. I've read in several places that such devices should automount in FC3 but this one is not mounting. I've tried other solutions that have worked that I've seen posted in this forum (putting /dev/sda1 /mnt/usbflash etc.. in the /etc/fstab file for one), but I'd really like to simply just plug it in and have an icon appear on the desktop to give me access to the drive. The hal daemon is running on my machine.

This has worked very well until the recent upgrade to 2.6.10/11...
