Hi, i'm very new to linux. I've been experiening problems when listening to music, realplayer 10 is running very slow, sometimes the sound stops and continues a few seconds later... sound quality is also low. What should I do? I have already downloaded ALC850 sound drivers but i dont know how to install it.
Any help will be appreciated.

open your file browser in gnome it is applications--->file browser
navigate to the location of the file (tar.bz2)
right click the file and open with the file archiver
next extract the file go with the default location.
close the file archiver and go to the extracted folder
look in ther for a file name "install" or "Readme"
That sound should be detected
try this See the little speaker at the top right corner?
right click it select "open Volume Control"
let me know what you get

Yes I see the little speaker since I installed FC3. I did what you told me but when it extracts I get the ALSA driver (i belive i already have this driver installed, saw it somewhere). There is a readme file that helps me to install it but i don't know how to do the folowing step:
#2) you must turn on sound support (soundcore module)
Thanks man!

Just make a note of what you did so future users can see what you did to correct the problem.
Chances are that the driver for your soundcard are newer in the install than the one you downloaded
Hope all this helps

The problem was with Realplayer10. Fedorajim (thanks again man!) helped me to install xmms and everything works flawlessly now.
