If I install a fresh Fedora (what ever version) and know that there's a newer version released of KDE/Gnome. What would be the best way of dealing with this:

1. Install bort Gnome and KDE from start and update them later.
2. Skip both Gnome and KDE and go for a "fresh" installation of both Gnome and KDE
3. Any other scenario

What is the recommended way???

1 & 2 are pretty much the same thing (at least how I see it) as I would imagine that in both cases (after the install) you would change your yum.conf to point to the development rawhide and then either type yum update gnome* or yum install gnome*

I would recommend 1 though as it is probably more bulletproof (ie: you get the integration with xfree in the automagic install).

I've been doing Option 1 for years. In fact, I just updated to KDE 3.2.1 this evening. (It may be my imagination, but it "feels" even faster than 3.2!)

You shouldn't experience any problems, just simply upgrading the packages.
