Hi, I have had a problem recently where my winmodem is not recognised by Fedora Core 2. It turns out that the PCTEL driver is not supported by the 2.6 kernel but it is supported in Core 1 (2.4 kernel).

My question: Does anyone know if there is a way to roll back to Core 1? (I downloaded and installed from Core 2 so I'm assuming I will have to install from scratch??).

I think you will have to reinstall, as you can't downgrade.

If it's only a kernel problem you can try to compile a 2.4 kernel yourself from source rpm or kernel.org

But being the newbie, that you are (no offence) it would be much easier just to do a clean install.
