I have an OnStream ADR-50 tape drive. It appears to work just fine under Fedora Core 3, except for the fact that it has problems finding EOD (especially when the tape has been erased).
For example, I run the following:
mt rewind
mt erase
mt rewind
mt eod
At this point, the tape spools, and never stops. I've waited 30-45 minutes before, and it seems like it just runs to the end, rewinds, and runs again. Every so often it stops and starts in the middle, but it never finds it, or quits.
Also, I've found that it has this behavior every so often, even when there has been data written to it.
These operations work fine with my OnStream SC-30 tape drive (uses the osst driver). I only have problems with the ADR-50 tape drive (uses the st driver).
