Modelines

Hi,

I would like to make my onw modelines and use them in Fedora.
When i do that. only gnome logon screen is using it, and as soon as gnome starts, is goes back to the setting a choose at SystemSetting ->Display.
How can i prefend that?

Note, however, that the XFree86 HOWTO, states that versions greater than 4.x (FC1 uses 4.3.x) do not need modelines any longer. See this for an explanation:
